Reclaimed Timber Cladding - An Old Look Making a Comeback

Recycled timber and wood products are gaining in popularity. In modern architectural structures, aged wood siding can provide a contrast with more contemporary materials.

The texture and character of reclaimed timber is virtually impossible to replicate.

In most instances recycled or repurposed timber is already well weathered, and will maintain a vintage patina for some time – making it an excellent low maintenance choice.

From a weather-tightness perspective however, recycled or reclaimed cladding and weatherboards come up short.

Old fixing holes and cracking can cause moisture ingress into the building structure.

Aged timber can also be brittle and twisted which leads to further complication during installation.

Abodo offers alternative architectural finishes to achieve an aged, recycled look from new, Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified plantation timbers. This overcomes weather-tightness and installation issues.
