Silver House - Gisborne, New Zealand

Perched on a hill near beautiful Wainui Beach, the Silver House has been expertly designed by Kingsbeer Architecture..

The floating eaves of the Silver House provide protection from the harsh east coast sun, sheltering the occupants while maintaining a commanding view of the bay.

The client brief was for a low maintenance natural facade that would silver to a grey shade. Shane and his team specified Abodo Vulcan Cladding with Protector - Patina finish.

Protector - Patina is a penetrating oil that leaves a silver grey hue on timber. As ultraviolet rays from the sun hit the surface the wood fades, leaving the grey and titanium pigments of Patina to pop out – ensuring an even silvery grey weathered finish on all elevations of cladding.
